A meeting bot is the participant an AI platform sends into a call so the recording and transcript do not depend on someone remembering to press record.
Joining as a participant is the approach that works across conferencing platforms without needing a separate integration with each one’s recording feature. The bot is admitted like anyone else, captures the audio, and hands it to transcription and diarization downstream.
Being a visible participant is the point rather than a side effect. Everyone on the call can see that something is capturing it, which is the honest position and in many jurisdictions the legally required one. The alternative — capturing from one participant’s device without announcing it — moves a consent problem onto whoever installed it.
